The music of Several Mouth Parts has been described as "some of the most creative, intellectual, yet psychotically stimulating sounds ever absorbed by man or beast!" Whoever said that was right...
"The Mind is the Body, the Body is the Mind"
This is the legendary album spawned from the infamous "lost tapes" of Several Mouth Parts performing live during that magical era when the power of the 1960s was transitioning and morphing into the '70s. Rediscovered and remastered by SMP's original keyboardist, Baby Gouda, The Mind is the Body... serves up the psychedelia, strangeness, and wonder of the time in a delectible delight that you will listen to over and over--with each "experience" being wildly different, like every "trip" into art that was taken back when music was indeed an intregal part of both the body and the mind! With cuts like the titilating "Proposition," and the prophetic "Nothing But Gravy," The Mind is the Body... has truly earned its iconic status!
"Vexed to Nightmare"
This album is the swinging, swaying bridge that connects the 1960s to everything that is modern and 21st century! Musical and artistic greatness is timeless, and Vexed to Nightmare is exactly that and so much more! With cuts like the sensitive and insightful, "Teenage Drag Queen;" the other-worldly "Bellman;" and the relationship-rich, "Crazy Pie," Vexed to Nightmare is a creative dream!
"BOO! YOU PRETTY THING!"
More and more brilliance in music from the unbelievable churning mind of Stanley L. Duamatef and the rest of Several Mouth Parts! When you listen to emotion-bending landmarks like the ethereal vocals on "The Red Airplane," or the cross-species interplay of "Cold Three-Chambered Heart," you will truly understand auditory greatness that is unsurpassed! When you listen to the title track, "BOO! YOU PRETTY THING!", you will question all that you are!
SEVERAL MOUTH PARTS' new release is a delightful pastiche of styles; from the historically accurate, “COLOR MY WORLD”, which squats the listener smack dab into ancient Egypt’s old Kink-dom, to the enigmatic and disturbing "TUNNEL OF HAIR". Then there's the hauntingly beautiful instrumental "MOTHMAN", the saucy 1920s sound of "MY BABY'S BLACK BOTTOM", and the thought provoking numbers, "LIE TO YOURSELF" and "MONOTHEISM”. Truly the strangest collection of tunes yet from this band!!!
"EL CAMINO SURREAL"
Just as El Camino Real linked the California missions founded by Father Serra, El Camino Surreal links 13 songs inspired by the spirit of Yves Tanguy, who worked in collaboration with the Parts during a series of seances conducted by SMP's medium, Dr. Mendax. This collection contains such delights as THE BISHOP WITH A BULGE, a number that no doubt would have been heartily enjoyed by jolly old Junipero himself. LOVE SUCKED THROUGH A STRAW, based on a misheard lyric and channeled through a vintage '67 San Francisco dead hippie who somehow got into the mix during seance # 7. DURANGO!--predicting the event in 2013 when a Dodge SUV took out the front of a business, capturing the precise sound before it even happened!
IT KNOWS MY NAME--we've all heard those voices from culverts from time to time--but have you ever acted on them? We have! Yes, here are thirteen songs, but please don't think of them as mere tunes to whistle in the shower--save them for whistling--IN THE DARK!
"world of wonders"
People often ask themselves: "What exactly is the connection between the Bowery Boys, an urban legend about a gold mine, an overweight blues band, a swollen body part, sauerkraut & the planet Mars, vegetarian zombies and a murderous Santa Claus?" Well--nothing, really--except they're just some of the subjects dealt with on Several Mouth Parts' latest album. In a nutshell, WORLD OF WONDERS is simply a look at this modern life--a guide as it were to existence in these end times. The clock is ticking, People...we're seconds away from both hands on the twelve!
WORLD OF WONDERS--BELIEF IN THE UNBELIEVABLE!
"The Making of 'Party Mouth'" (an amazing eight minute
documentary of the creation of the immortal tune):
The End of the World Party and Nobody Came
The Remarkable "Stud Blues"!!!
The always provocative and perennially pretty, "Proposition"
