Then there's the hauntingly beautiful instrumental "MOTHMAN", the saucy 1920s sound of "MY BABY'S BLACK BOTTOM", and the thought provoking numbers, "LIE TO YOURSELF" and "MONOTHEISM”. Just as El Camino Real linked the California missions founded by Father Serra, El Camino Surreal links 13 songs inspired by the spirit of Yves Tanguy, who worked in collaboration with the Parts during a series of seances conducted by SMP's medium, Dr. Mendax. This collection contains such delights as THE BISHOP WITH A BULGE, a number that no doubt would have been heartily enjoyed by jolly old Junipero himself. LOVE SUCKED THROUGH A STRAW, based on a misheard lyric and channeled through a vintage '67 San Francisco dead hippie who somehow got into the mix during seance # 7. DURANGO!--predicting the event in 2013 when a Dodge SUV took out the front of a business, capturing the precise sound before it even happened!
